Little Foxes on the Hillside: Nursery

Steve and I are about 2 weeks away from D-Day when we welcome our little fox into the world. That means it's time to show where she'll be staying. I have to brag too that some of my favorite things we've put in her room have been lovingly hand-made by family, friends, and momma (the stuffed animal fox daddy picked up for her during his run at the Grand Canyon this summer is also top on the list).

Featurette: Shawn and Shayla

Filmed and edited as Todd Seimer Photography's Cinema branch

Shawn and Shayla are the type of couple who love to tease each other. They told me that the first time we met and it was a joy to witness it on their wedding day as well. It was easy to capture instances of them laughing, smiling, and having fun. There are also moments shared in this Featurette that I'm hoping will directly speak to Shayla and Shawn. This is their story.

Featurette: Rob and Katie

I've been challenged to ask the question "Why?" in my work. Why did I take that shot? Why did I make that cut in editing? Asking ourselves the big "Why?" question adds a whole layer of depth to what we do.

Todd and I got to know Rob and Katie when we took a walk and talked with them for their engagement film. During our walking and talking, I took note of the depth of Rob and Katie's relationship, especially once they really started to open up about what they appreciate most about each other (I have an exlusive photo of my actual notes as bona-fide evidence). When I got to spend a whole day with them for the wedding, I saw that depth amplified.

So, here's my answer to the "Why's?" for their Featurette. It became quickly apparent that family and friends meant the world to Rob and Katie, so I focused on tying those connections in with the relationship they had built with each other. Sure, we had talked about (and I have personally witnessed) the most awesome candy and cookie tables that span the length of entire walls. And sure, we had such a fun time crashing the local Italian street festival on their wedding day, but you won't see that in their Featurette.

Why?

Because as sweet and fun as they are, cookies and festivals are a small part of who they are. It belongs in their full Feature Film to help tell the full story, but not here.

The next-to-last shot lingers for a while. My hope is that it truly hits home the message of who Rob and Katie are as a couple. Think of each and every person they pass as they walk down the aisle. It's a long aisle. There are a lot of people. And I know why.

Hear Me Roar: Baby Ethan

From spending the afternoon with Nicole and Billy, and then hearing all about what life has been like so far with a new baby, you would never guess it all entails very small amounts of sleep. Perhaps there are secrets to be learned here about how to look refreshed and have a clean house less than two weeks after coming home from the hospital. Anyone want to divulge so Steve and I can seem as put together when we bring our own little one home early this November?

Ethan was absolutely adorable and posed like a champ for us. Little did I know, Billy is a pro at baby posing and propping. Until I get more practice of my own, I offered Billy a role as baby-poser for any future shoots.

It was so wonderful to be brought into the Terrell home to be a part of documenting this new life and the start of this new little family. I can tell by Ethan's intent gaze that he already knows what goes on in the world around him and I hope this fascination only grows as he does. Congratulations on your little boy, Nicole and Billy!
